For Raja Rahman, the vision for Consortium at Symphony Park began with a phone call to Las Vegas City Hall in December 2021. That conversation helped spark an ambitious idea: create a world-class performing arts campus in the heart of Symphony Park where artists can perform, students can learn, organizations can collaborate, and the community can experience the arts year-round.

Today, that vision is taking shape through Consortium at Symphony Park (CSP) and The Institute* for the Performing Arts.

A Life Shaped by the Arts

Raja brings a lifetime of experience in performance, education, and arts leadership to the project. A Steinway Artist and graduate of The Juilliard School, he has built a career dedicated to both artistic excellence and the development of future generations of artists.

His experience includes serving as an educator at The Juilliard School and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, giving him a firsthand understanding of what artists and students need to learn, create, perform, and grow.

That perspective eventually became part of a much larger vision for Las Vegas.

From 2022 to 2026, Raja served as President & CEO of Nevada School of the Arts, helping advance arts education and opportunities within the community. His work in Las Vegas also reinforced an opportunity he saw for the city’s future: bringing performing arts organizations together through permanent infrastructure designed for collaboration, education, performance, and long-term cultural growth.

Envisioning What Las Vegas Can Become

As the leader of Consortium at Symphony Park, Raja is now working to bring that vision to life.

At its center is The Institute for the Performing Arts*, a world-class campus envisioned as a home for artists and a stage for Las Vegas. Rather than serving a single organization or artistic discipline, The Institute is designed to create opportunities for performing arts organizations, educators, students, artists, and audiences to share resources and build connections.

The goal is not simply to construct a new venue. It is to help establish a lasting cultural institution that can grow alongside Las Vegas and strengthen the role of the performing arts within the community for generations.
